Bank Holiday Reminder! Banks will be closed for 11 days in May, according to the official schedule

In May 2022, there are four festivals, as well as Sundays and the second and fourth Saturdays. Customers should keep in mind that they will be able to use online banking services over the holidays.


New Delhi: The month of May will include 11 bank holidays, including Id-ul-Fitr, Buddha Purnima, and Bhagavan Shree Parshuram Jayanti. According to the Reserve Bank of India's schedule of holidays, Indian banks will be closed for a total of 11 days this month, including weekends (RBI).


The list of holidays is divided into national and regional categories by the central bank under the Negotiable Instruments Act, Negotiable Instruments Act and Real-Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and Banks' Closing of Accounts. While some holidays are region-specific, meaning they may differ from state to state, others are nationwide.

1st of May (Sunday) - All India.


Monday, May 2nd - Ramjan-Eid (Eid-UI-Fitra). Banks in Kerala's Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram will stay closed.


Tuesday, May 3rd - Bhagavan Shree Parshuram Jayanti/Ramjan-Eid (Eid-UI-Fitra)/Basava Jayanti/Akshaya


Tritiya Banks will be closed across India, with the exception of Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram.


The 8th of May (Sunday) is a national holiday in India.


Rabindranath Tagore's birth anniversary is May 9 (Monday). West Bengal has a bank holiday.


Saturday, May 14 - India as a whole.


The 15th of May (Sunday) is a national holiday in India.


Monday, May 16th is Buddha Purnima. Tripura, Belapur, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab and Haryana, Uttarakhand, Jammu, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Srinagar will have their banks closed.


The 22nd of May (Sunday) is a national holiday in India.


Saturday, May 28th - All India.


The 29th of May (Sunday) is a national holiday in India.
