Gehlot and Baghel of the Congress will meet — Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday to discuss Kishor's strategy
Both Congress CMs will arrive in Delhi on Wednesday(later today) morning and will meet with the panel investigating Prashant Kishor's strategy plan.
Congress President Sonia Gandhi met with poll strategist Prashant Kishor on Tuesday at her 10 Janpath house in New Delhi, with the goal of reviving and strengthening the party ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting was attended by senior party leaders Kamal Nath, Digvijaya Singh, Mukul Wasnik, KC Venugopal, Jairam Ramesh, AK Antony, Ambika Soni, and Randeep Singh Surjewala.
Sonia and Kishor had met three times in the previous four days. The first meeting took place on April 16, and the second on April 18. According to ANI, Sonia and Kishor are slated to conduct two more meetings in the coming days to sketch out a strategy for the 2023 assembly elections and the 2024 general elections.
Will Prashant Kishor run for Congress?
Kishor's encounter with Sonia occurs amid speculation that he may join the grand old party. Sonia is "extremely keen," according to veteran Congress politician M Veerappa Moily, to include the election strategist in the party's 2024 strategy.
The former Union Minister said that those opposed to Kishor's admission to Congress were "anti-reform," stressing that the delay in "refurbishing the party has harmed the Congress and the nation."
"In fact, Sonia Gandhi was eager to include Prashant Kishor in developing a plan for the Congress party a few months ago. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, the case was once again postponed "Moily said to the PTI news agency in an interview.
"I had previously sent a letter to the Congress president on April 5, 2022, outlining a suitable plan for moving the INC's program ahead while retaining the trust of other secular forces/parties, with a specific remark for Karnataka. The President of Congress has recognized the aforementioned letter "He stated.
Will Congress back Kishor up?
According to ANI, Rahul Gandhi has agreed with Kishor, and the poll strategist may deliver his final report within a week. Meanwhile, critical talks with Sonia will be held by Congress' senior brass to continue negotiations on Kishor's idea. Rajasthan's Ashok Gehlot and Chhattisgarh's Bhupesh Baghel are also slated to visit Sonia shortly in New Delhi to discuss the Congress' 2024 plan.

Baghel and Gehlot, who will face assembly elections in their respective states in 2023, are expected to be in Delhi on Wednesday to meet Sonia. Meanwhile, former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has met with Sonia and reviewed the country's present political scenario, as well as proposed methods to strengthen the Congress at all levels.
Kishor allegedly informed Congress high brass in meetings with Sonia months before the Gujarat and Himachal assembly elections that the party should focus exclusively on 370 Lok Sabha seats for the 2024 general elections. According to ANI, Kishor stated that the Congress should fight alone in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha, while forming coalitions in West Bengal, Maharashtra, and Tamil Nadu.
