Kannada actor Rishab Shetty, who is now riding high on the success of his most recent film Kantara, reveals why Bollywood is trailing behind, and his rationale makes complete sense. Kantara was a box office smash.
He went on to explain why Bollywood movies aren't doing well at the box office, saying, "We produce the film for the public, not for ourselves." It is necessary for us to keep people and their feelings in mind at all times. It is necessary for us to have an understanding of their morals and way of life. Before we became filmmakers, we were regulars at the venue.
However, as a result of an excessive amount of western influence and consumption of Hollywood and other forms of media, filmmakers in India are also attempting to achieve the same thing. But why are you making an effort to do that? People in Hollywood already have it, and they're doing a better job at it in terms of quality, storyline, and performances.
He then went on to say, "Now, on OTT, you are getting it (western material) on dozens of platforms in lots of different languages. " But the narrative of my community is something you won't learn about if you go there. You won't find another place in the globe where a narrative can compare to this one in terms of its local roots and significance. You have a talent for telling tales, and your hometown is full of legends. That is the message that you need to convey to the general public.
Rishab, who also plays the major part, wrote and directed Kantara in addition to directing it himself.
It has surpassed KGF: Chapter 1 to become the highest-grossing Kannada film of all time, placing it in second place.
At the end of the first week, the movie had a worldwide box office total of Rs 325 crore.
Since its debut, Hombale Films's Kantara is an action-thriller that has done all in its power to wow the general audience and establish new standards for commercial achievement. In addition to the public and the reviewers, the movie was also successful in winning the favour of a number of well-known celebrities and influential personalities from around the country.
After receiving accolades from notable figures in the entertainment industry such as Dhanush, Anil Kumble, and a great number of others, the pan-Indian superstars Prabhas and Prashanth Neel have now spoken positively about the movie.
