The Biebs, ah, the Biebs. Where do we even begin? From Sofia Richie to numerous variations of Jelena, the Grammy winner's dating life has been a roller coaster (even in his leopard-print Audi). But, from his initial cringe-worthy encounter with Hailey Baldwin in 2009 to their 2018 Grand Makeout Tour of the United StatesTM, JB looks to have made Hailey Baldwin one less lonely girl (for now). Here's a detailed chronicle of their tumultuous relationship, including all the Selena rumours.
Cringe in 2009
Hailey, who was 12 at the time, was there with her father, Stephen Baldwin, and kept her arms crossed the entire time.
Baldwin's burgeoning adolescent angst manifested out in full force when her father, Steve Baldwin, introduced her to JB backstage at The Today Show when she was 14 years old. Take note of Bieber's small hair flip right before his hand reaches Baldwin's, then watch sparks *not* fly as she immediately crosses her arms again.
Hailey attended another Bieber Fever event in February 2011.
Stephen Baldwin strikes once more, allowing for another JB-to-HB clash. Hailey Baldwin, together with her father, attended the premiere of Justin Bieber's Never Say Never film at the Regal E-Walk 13 in Times Square, New York City. Meanwhile, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez confirmed their romance the same month when they attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party together.
Justin and Hailey went to church together in November of 2014.
Justin and Hailey were sighted together at Hillsong Church (together with Kendall Jenner), fueling suspicion that they were dating. Justin had split up with his on-again, off-again girlfriend, Selena Gomez, around the same time. It wasn't Justin and Gomez's first split, and it wasn't going to be their last.
December 2014: The pair fended off dating rumors
After they were seen together at church, Justin and Hailey denied any romantic involvement.
In an interview with E! News, Hailey said, "I've known him since I was so young — since I was like 13 — and we've just been good friends over the years. We have just stayed close and there's nothing more to it than that."
Justin voiced a similar sentiment on Instagram when he shared a photo of him and Hailey captioned, "People are crazy. I'm super single and this is my good friend u would know otherwise."
Justin and Hailey received matching tattoos in July of 2015.
Justin and Hailey received identical "G" tattoos in the summer of 2015.

"This is for Chad and Julia Veach, the toughest couple I know!" Justin sent a message on Instagram. "Lissencephaly was diagnosed in their daughter at birth. She is amazing and has the most beautiful soul. You people make me better, and I consider myself fortunate to have you in my life."

"He's getting ready to go on tour," she told E! News. "Relationships are already complex at this age, but I don't like to talk about it since it's between me and him."
Justin, on the other hand, suggested that he could want to marry Hailey one day, stating, "I'm aware that in the past, I've wounded people and said things I didn't mean in order to make them happy at the time. So now I'm simply more concerned with the future, making sure I don't harm them. What if Hailey turns out to be the girl I'm going to marry?"
Between February and August of 2016, the two had a falling out.
Hailey subsequently told Vogue that, while she knew their relationship was neither serious or exclusive, it ended disastrously.
"Negative things happened that we still need to talk about and go through," she stated in a January 2019 interview.
